Wine Spectator 91 points - Dense, tightly wound and well-structured, with floral raspberry and spiced cinnamon aromas and zesty cherry, mineral and toasted herb flavors. The tannins bite down on the finish. Hands off for now. Drink now through 2021.—T.F. (Nov 13 2013)
In 1893, newlyweds Edoardo and Angela Seghesio purchased their new home in Alexander Valley. As winemaker for the most prominent winery in Sonoma County, Edoardo recognized great vineyard potential surrounding the modest home. In 1895, he planted the "Home Ranch" and began a lineage of four generations of grape growers in Sonoma County. This vineyard, in addition to producing quintessential Zinfandel, has long been the source for subsequent plantings of Seghesio Zinfandel.
