It is a sophisticated elegant wine. Beautiful ruby red color, Intense cassis, strawberry flavors, with combined hints of black cherries and chocolate. Oak is not predominant but well combined and still present in the background in order to keep the fruit as a principal character of this wine. Solid and ripe tannins but with 2 years of aging already soft and friendly. An outstanding wine for bottle aging (5-10 years).
Robert Parker 90 points - The 2008 Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon is a glass-coating opaque purple color with aromas of wood smoke, pencil lead, scorched earth, violets, blackcurrant, and blackberry. Structured on the palate, but slightly clipped in the finish, another 2-3 years of bottle age could round it out but that is a gamble. Drink this Cabernet sooner rather than later.

Wine Spectator 88 points - Lightly firm, with a muscular core of blackberry, currant and licorice snap notes laid over a loam and coffee undertow. Slightly chunky, but pushes through well enough on the finish. Drink now. 25,000 cases imported. –JM (Nov 15 2010)
